Armour traders (Services Help)
Armour traders are NPCs who specialize in trading various pieces of
armour for ones from their stock. Their main purpose is to aid in
roleplaying; if you are a moral player and do not want to walk around
wearing a suit of armour you looted from an Uruk-hai officer, you may
trade it for more fitting elven chainmail.
There are currently two armour traders in game that are available to
all: in Caras Galadhon in Lothlórien for moral players, and in Outpost
in Near Harad for evil players. Guildmasters may also choose to have an
armour trader in their guildhall; in this case the replacement armour is
called "guild livery".
All armour traders have the same commands available:
- offer <armour> - Shows you what a piece of armour you have on your
person may be traded for. Next to each listed replacement you will
see a "power" rating. This reflects how the replacement compares
to your armour. For example, if the power column says "80%", it
means that the replacement armour defense values will be 80% of ones
of the item you are offering. Note that it is impossible to trade
anything for *better* armour, for balance reasons.
- trade <armour> for <number> - Perform the actual trade. <Number> is
the number of the replacement armour you wish to take, from the list
given by the "offer" command; that means you have to offer something
before you can trade.
