Endurance (General Help)
Endurance points, or EP for short, is a value representing how much
energy your character has. The closer the value to 0, the more tired you
are. Unlike hitpoints, endurance can never go below 0. Your endurance
can be viewed in your score, but the easiest way to keep track of it is
by having it in your prompt, which is the default.
While usually not critical to your survival, you will soon find that
having high endurance is very important. You might not die out of low EP,
but all professional abilities and many quest actions "cost" you a number
of EP. For example, climbing a tree may take you 20 EP, headbutting an
enemy 35 EP, and so on. If you happen to have less than that, you will
not be able to perform the action.
The only situation where EP is life-critical is swimming. If you
become too tired while in the water, you will drown and die. So, before
you attempt to cross a river or lake, be sure you have enough endurance!
EP is replenished together with HP through NPC healers, eating food
and similar activities, all of which are detailed in "help healing".
