Guild disband (Guild Help)
There are four (4) ways in which a guild can be disbanded:
- If a guild cannot meet their rent for three (3) consecutive months,
it will be disbanded automatically.
- If a guild cannot maintain a membership of at least ten (10) members
for three (3) consecutive months, it will be disbanded automatically.
- The guildmembers may decide to disband their guild. Should they do so,
the guildmaster may go to the members room and use the "startdisband"
command. This command will begin a 7-day vote. At the end of the 7
days, if more members have voted "yes" to disband than "no", the guild
will be disbanded and reverted to a clan. If at any time during the
7-day period the guildmaster wishes to halt the vote, they may use
"haltdisband" from the members room. If the members believe that the
guildmaster is trying to sabotage the guild, they should overthrow the
guildmaster and use "haltdisband".
- The guildmembers may decide to merge their guild with another. There
is no set procedure on how that happens; any merges will be handled
on a case-by-case basis by the current Guilds Liaison.
In all cases of a guild being disbanded, the guild will revert to a
clan and the guild members will become clan members. So long as the clan
remains in existence (without being disbanded), it is possible to upgrade
to a guild once more and reclaim the former guildhall descriptions. If
the clan is ever disbanded, the guildhall descriptions and other existing
guild content will no longer be accessible for mortal use, i.e., if former
members of a disbanded guild attempt to re-establish the disbanded guild,
they should assume they will be starting the guild from scratch.
Note: Upon complete disbandment of a guild (i.e., it is also no longer
a clan), the use of guild content from the disbanded guild is at the
discretion of Valinor and the Guilds domain. Via a discussed proposal
in Valinor, the content of a disbanded guild may be (a) kept entirely
private, (b) turned into a public area, (c) turned into a quest area,
or otherwise handled in a way deemed appropriate, based on the guild's
overall theme and and resulting discussions of the content's use.
Furthermore, upon disbandment of the guild, the guildhall will be
reduced to one room and a board for providing former members a way to
keep in touch. The default for this room is the bar, though a different
room may be chosen upon discussion with the Guilds Liaison. This room
will not provide any functionalities or safe harbors beyond those of
an inn room. If this room is provided when a disbanded guild is still
in the clan stage and the clan is upgraded to re-form the guild, the
provided one room and board memorial will be removed.
Please contact the Guilds Liaison with any questions.
