Quests (Character command)
Usage: |
quests quests [filter]
|
The 'quests' command will list all quests done and how many times
you've done them. If an optional filter is specified, the list of quests
will contain only those matching this filter.
What is and what isn't a quest? While in many cases this is quite obvious, for others it is not quite
so. In the classification of quests we used the following guidelines:
- A 'quest' is a form of achievement; something that requires
some effort and is finalized by receiving a reward of sorts.
- For a quest that consists of multiple parts (each of which may
or may not have its own reward), only the very final part
will be logged.
- For a quest with two (or more) ways of obtain the final goal,
usually only the one involving the most steps will be logged.
The most common cases of this is: either give X to Y to receive
Z or kill Y to receive Z. In this case, only the former way
will be logged.
- For small areas with no particular quest in them, killing the
final boss (if there is one) will be logged, to mark that you
explored the area. This generally does not apply to bigger
cities that have other quests, with the exception of uniques
and semi-uniques.
- For NPCs carrying uniques and semi-uniques, the quest will be
logged only if the unique in question is present on the NPC.
- Various single 'actions' that you can perform to gain some sort
of benefits are not considered quests, unless such action is
the whole point of a separate area.
Please be aware, though, that there might be exceptions to these
rules in some places.
