Serving (General Help)
Sauron's forces are multiplying and spreading throughout the lands.
His will is to dominate everything, and to do so he gathers strength
into his armies.
There are those among the races that call themselves "free" that
realize the wisdom and power and glory of Sauron's rule and the order
it would bring. To Sauron they have pledged to serve faithfully, and
their once-friendly Free Races call them traitors.
The servants of Sauron can enter his lands and interact with his
other servants.
However, it is a fact that many of Sauron's other servants, Orcs and
other beasts, hold a natural dislike for the pale races of Men, the stumpy
Dwarves, and those Elves that were poisoned by the light. Despite
dedicating their service to a common lord, Sauron, not all of Sauron's
servants will honor this pledge and some may refuse such dealings.
Serving Sauron is not without risk. To the Free Races, servants of
Sauron are regarded as traitors. Most towns will refuse entry and most
shops will refuse to do business; if you request a wagon builder to build
you a wagon as a member of the Free Races and then serve the dark lord,
do not expect them to honor the prior agreement to deliver the finished
product into the hands of a traitor. To the servant of Sauron, the towns
and cities of the Free are enemy territory.
To become a servant of Sauron, you must seek one of his Lieutenants,
such as Gothmog on the Pelennor Fields, and "serve sauron". Do not make
this decision lightly, for Sauron will not release you from his service
until you have served a minimum of 1 day of age.
In order to pledge to the dark side, you must be of at least level 10
and have at least 2 days of age.
To request release from Sauron's service, return to the Lieutenant and
"serve no more". Note that in this case, Sauron will not welcome you back
to servitude until you have aged one more day.
Servants of Sauron that harm friends of Mordor risk being tagged as a
"traitor" and as such being chased by other servants without mercy.
Traitors are still subject to the 1 day of age limit of releasing from
Sauron's service.
