Silvan (Races Help)
Rarely as noble, wise, or mystical as their grey cousins, the Silvan
Elves are a fierce and agile race. They closely resemble Men in build,
although they are slighter and not as strong. Their quick reflexes and
agility make them superb archers and rangers and they use these skills to
defend Rhovanion as they have since time immemorial. As their name means
'Elves of the Woods,' their two remaining refuges of Thranduil's Kingdom
and Lothlórien are primarily populated by Silvans, although many can be
found in the valley of Rivendell and a few smaller Western settlements.
Living and fighting closely beside the Sindar, the Silvan Elves are
among Sauron's oldest enemies. As central participants in the Council of
Elrond, they now fight to protect their remaining lands, as well as put
an end to the threat of Mordor.
The Silvan have a unique dialect of Sindarin that shares their name.
While most learn to use the more commonly-accepted Sindarin, among
themselves the older Elves will usually speak in the old Nandorin tongue.
