Sindar (Races Help)
The Sindar (Sinda, singular) are the oldest and most noble playable
race in Middle-earth. Tall, slender, and possessing an air of wisdom and
tranquility, these immortals have lived through the worst of Arda's
tragedies and lived to tell the tale. Their long lives and attunement to
the magic of the world makes them superior wizards, but they are not as
sturdy warriors as Men or Dwarves. Despite their refined culture being
sharply at odds with the brutality of war, their experience makes them as
adept at crafting and music as they are at counseling and strategy.
The "Grey Elves" once dwelt in Beleriand, which now lies under the
Sea, but now most of them dwell in the Grey Havens, near to their fabled
ships, or in Rivendell where they see out their final days in mortal
lands. East of the mountains, they lead the Silvan communities,
indicating the intertwined nature of the two races' fates.
The Sindar speak an ancient tongue called Sindarin. It is often used
by their Silvan cousins and sometimes by the northern Dúnedain.
