Travelto (Travel command)
Usage: |
travelto <destination> [slowly | very slowly | quickly] travelto <destination> then <destination2> [speed] travelto <resume | return | reverse> [speed] travelto next
|
The 'travelto' command lets you quickly travel between the major
towns and cities of Arda. The command can only be used at a signpost
of the town, usually located at or very near the town gates. Looking
at the signpost will reveal to you the destinations that can be reached
from your current location. To actually travel, you need to type
'travelto <destination>'. If you are looking to travel further, you
can create a chain of destinations via 'travelto <destination1> then
<destination2> then <destination3>' and so on and so forth!
By default, you will travel at a 'normal' speed, however you may
choose to alter the speed to either:
- quickly - You will move more quickly, but you will get tired and
lose some endurance.
- slowly - You will move slower, but will have more time to react
to events you see en-route and stop your travel.
- very slowly - You move one room at a time.
When you are traveling, typing any command (or just pressing ENTER)
will abort your travel and make you stop in place. From there, you can
either resume your travelto ('travelto resume') or decide to return to
where you started your travel from ('travelto return'). 'travelto
reverse' will make you turn backwards, regardless of whether you were
currently following the original route or returning. It is possible to
alter your travel speed with resume / return / reverse commands. If you
are stopped, 'travelto next' will advance you a single room at a time.
