Wield (Item command)

wield <weapon> [from <container> [on ground]]

Typing 'wield <weapon>' will cause you to wield the specified weapon.
If there are multiple copies in the room you can specify which one you
want to wield. For example, 'wield sword 2' would wield the second sword.
You can also 'wield <weapon> from <container>'.
By default, automatic wielding of weapons you pick up is turned on,
so simply getting one from the ground or from a container will
automatically wield it for you. You can turn this off by going to the
Combat section of the settings menu accessed by typing 'settings'. Pay
close attention to what you have in your hands, as you will get a fail
message if you try to wield a weapon that requires more hands than you
have free. You can easily check this by typing 'inventory' or 'hands'.
