Backstab (Assassin ability)
The backstab ability allows you to try to sneak up behind your enemy
and stab him or her for extra damage. If you are hidden or camouflaged,
this action will reveal you.
Backstab is primarily an assassin ability, and its success is based
mostly on the assassination skill. You will have the best chance of
landing a powerful backstab if you are not already distracted with the
motions of combat. A successful backstab in this case costs 50 EP.
If you are in combat, you may only attempt to backstab your target if
their attention is being actively diverted away from you by another
attacker. A successful backstab in this case will cost 35 EP and will
deal less damage, as proper positioning is very tricky with an erratically
moving target. A failed attempt always costs 20 EP.
To prevent abuse (multiple backstabs in a short amount of time),
the victim of a backstab will be protected from further backstabs for
1 minute.
