Skills (Character command)

skills <disuse | reuse <skill name>>

The skills command shows you your current skill levels. Your skills
will improve as you use them, or you may train yourself in them. You can
see other information about your character with the "score" command. The
common skills are the same on every character while the professional
skills will depend on what profession you follow. You may have "Other"
skills trained to allow greater customization, but they will decrease at
a rate of one skill per hour of your character's age.
Skills which are temporarily modified will be shown in a different
colour: red for negative bonuses, green for positive ones.
While modified, you will be unable to train the skill further at a trainer.
You may also lower an "Other" skill more quickly, by disusing it.
Should you wish to resume using the skill, simply reuse it. Note that
while the skill is in disuse, it will act as if you do not have it, except
when trying to change profession or learn more than 8 skills. The skill
name which is currently being disused will display in the "Disused skills"
section of this command.

Be aware, that you will not be able to switch to another profession
while you have any "other" skills, unless those skills are also
professional skills of the profession you wish to switch to.
