This helpfile describes the "tags" that you can see after the
description of items in your inventory or the items on the ground. By
"tags" in this case we understand some phrases put in brackets. You
can encounter the following tags:
Item position:
wielded - The currently used weapon.
in hands - Item taking up space in your hands.
worn - Worn (effectively used) armour.
Item status:
burning, glowing - An item emits light and can be lit and extinguished.
Note that burning items will automatically extinguish when you enter
water.
broken - An item that is used too much can eventually break. Broken
weapons are useless (and usually worthless, too) and cannot be
wielded.
mended - A broken weapon can be mended by a skilled weaponsmith, few
of whom can be found in Arda. Mending a weapon makes it usable again.
An armour that has been damaged can be mended by an armoursmith to
restore it to perfect condition. Both armour and weapons can only
be mended once in their lifetime.
Note that certain items may have their own custom tags; this
particularly applies to magical equipment than can emit light, produce
an aura, etc.
