Map (General command)
The map command allows anyone who is currently in the wilderness
to check their maps and figure out their current location in the world.
As analyzing the surrounding terrain and checking it with the map takes
time and effort, there is a slight delay between subsequent uses of this
command. The efficacy of this command is determined by your wilderness
skill; the higher it is, the bigger the map you will see -- however, new
players do not need to worry; even with 0 wilderness, consulting the map
can be very useful in finding your way around. The displayed map size
can also be affected by certain items that help in exploring, such as
spyglasses.
Please note: if you have the "accessibility" setting turned on, then
the map output will use plain english words rather than the graphical
symbols noted below. See "help accessibility" for more information.

These are typically towns, camps and farms of significant size,
or notable landmarks. To find the smaller ones (which usually
contain greater rewards!) you will have to explore on your own.
