Merciful (Combat command)
Usage: |
merciful merciful <name> merciful <guildname> merciful -clear
|
The merciful command used by itself will list the names of players
and guilds that you are currently showing mercy to.
If your merciful setting is on, you will not inflict any fatal wounds
on players with whom you are in combat, i.e. you cannot kill another
player in regular combat with this setting on. Instead, you will only
knock them unconscious and will be able to take some of their
equipment and gold. Since incapacitating a player is not a murder, you
cannot be charged with murder for that act in the courthouse. However,
you will still be responsible for an attempted murder and may have to
pay a fine for that.
You can turn on or off merciful either by player name, or for all
members of a given guild. For the list of Guilds, use 'who guilds'.
You can clear the list of people and guilds you are merciful to with
the 'merciful -clear' command.
After your victim is knocked unconscious, there is a 45 second
delay before you can attack them again or before they can attack you
in retaliation. However, they can enter combat with any other player.
Any victim of a 'merciful' attack apart from being knocked
unconscious for some time will also lose some items they carry. When
the victim falls on the ground, they can release items from their hands,
their helmet or shield may drop on the ground and things may fall out
of any container they carry, such as a pack or a baldric. Finally,
gold coins may fall out from their money pouch. The only thing 'safe'
from a merciful attack is worn armour (except for shield and helm).
Note: |
If your victim has their PvP flag set to 'merciful', you will not
kill them regardless of your own merciful status.
